5 Reasons to Buy a Portable Material Hoist for Your Business

In 2016, nearly 5,200 American employees were killed in work-related accidents. That amounts to nearly 100 workers each week. Many of these accidents could have been avoided by using the right equipment — specifically, a portable material hoist. Read more about how these machines can keep your employees safe, as well as four other benefits they provide.

Fewer Accidents

Accidents predominantly occur in warehouses and on construction sites when an employee lacks training or doesn’t have the proper equipment to complete a task. In fact, the most common causes of work-related deaths occur when employees are hit or crushed by objects. Without the proper tools, such as an electric material lift, employees are more likely to drop things or fall. Portable material hoists can lift items on and off of shelves, transfer them onto trucks. They can even be used as forklifts, dollies, or hand trucks.

Fewer Injuries

With fewer accidents come fewer injuries, which workers are more likely to suffer if they don’t have at least a small material hoist. Injuries to the nerves, muscles, tendons, ligaments, and even blood vessels are common amongst warehouse and construction workers if they have to lift and carry products frequently. However, a hoist has wheels and swivel casters to move heavy or oddly shaped loads and can be used for frequent shipping and receiving.

Less Product Damage

If your employees use a portable material hoist, you will see less product damage. Products won’t be dropped and broken as frequently, which often happens when they’re carried or moved by hand. Products can instead be set on the hoist and the machine does the rest. As long as you properly store, clean, and maintain your equipment, you can expect it to last a long time.

Increased Productivity

Your employees can be more productive with the addition of a hoist in your warehouse or construction site. While workers can easily tire after moving multiple items, a hoist won’t. You will be able to move things more quickly and more efficiently. This can even keep your employees happier and more comfortable — lead to less burnout and turnover.

Decreased Costs

Using the right equipment for your job can save you money and generate more income. With increased productivity, you will create and move more product. Anytime you can speed up a process, you will be more likely to meet customer demand. That can save you money while growing your business.

Portable material hoists can make a big difference in the way you do business. If you aren’t already using them, you need only look at the ways in which they could benefit your company. They can keep your employees safe, happy, and healthy while also speeding production and increasing productivity. To find out more, please contact us today.
